From Kite Lake, you can access trails to Mount Lincoln, Mount Democrat, Mount Bross and Mount Buckskin. The Windy Ridge Scenic Ridge is also nearby, as well as the historic Buckskin Gulch Mining district. (The ranger station in Fairplay has pamphlets for self-guided tours).
