Pinons is known as one of the top three restaurants in town, a town where it's difficult to get a bad meal.
The ambience is typical of Aspen....casual (I wore jeans.) but well-turned out, lively, a sophisticated looking crowd.
We were 6 people & our entrees ranged from a vegetarian plate for me...beautifully presented & utterly delicious, to a pasta dish with squid ink, prosciutto, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. to roasted breast of chicken, to macademia nut-encrusted ahi tuna, to a huge piece of roasted pork, sharable, although my husband managed to finish it. With each entree except the pasta, a wonderful sampling of vegetables graced the plate. No one ordered an appetizer, a good thing since the portions were more than ample.
Pinons lived up to its stellar reputation & no one was disappointed.
Prices are comparable to New York.
